Grow Stronger

Supervision

Supervision provides a space to think clearly, navigate complexity, and stay effective in your role. It’s an opportunity to explore challenges, consider different perspectives, and stay grounded in the role you’re carrying.

ARE YOU CARRYING A LOT IN YOUR ROLE?

If you’re responsible for others — whether as a leader, manager, or in a helping profession — there’s often a lot to hold. You might be supporting people, making decisions, or navigating complex situations, and not always having a space to process it yourself.

You might be looking for space to reflect and think things through, clarity when situations feel unclear or demanding, and a way to stay grounded and avoid burnout — while continuing to develop in your role.

Supervision gives you a place to step back and think clearly. You don’t have to carry this on your own.

HOW SUPERVISION CAN HELP

Supervision gives you a reflective, collaborative space focused on your work and how you’re experiencing it.

Together we’ll get clarity on complex situations, think through decisions, gain new perspective on challenges, and build accountability and sustainability in your role.

Supervision gives you a place to step back and think clearly. You don’t have to carry this on your own.

HOW I WORK

My approach to supervision is thoughtful, grounded, and relational. I bring experience working with leaders and professionals across complex environments.

I’ll work alongside you to create a calm, reflective space where you can think clearly, gain perspective, and be gently challenged when needed. Sessions are structured but responsive — we work with what you bring. Over time you’ll develop greater insight, leadership capacity, and a clearer sense of how to stay effective and sustainable in your role.

I draw on both leadership and organisational experience, bringing an understanding of people, systems, and real-world pressures.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Supervision is valuable for leaders and managers, people in helping professions, and anyone carrying responsibility for others who wants a reflective space to think clearly and grow.

“Everything you need to know before getting started”

What is professional supervision?

Supervision is a structured, reflective space to explore your work, gain perspective, and maintain effective and sustainable practice.

It’s for anyone with responsibility for others—leaders, managers, and those in helping or people-focused roles

Supervision focuses more on your professional role, responsibilities, and reflective practice, while coaching is more goal and performance-focused.

I work with a range of supervision areas including leadership and professional challenges, complex people dynamics, burnout and sustainability, ethical and professional decision-making, managing responsibility, reflective practice, accountability, new to leadership roles, time management, self-awareness and emotional intelligence, self-doubt and imposter syndrome, work-life balance, work relationships, and performance improvement.

Yes — that’s a core part of supervision. You’re welcome to bring specific cases, situations, or dynamics you’re navigating. All client material is treated with full confidentiality within the supervision relationship.

Everything discussed in supervision is held in confidence. When discussing client material, first names or identifying details can be changed if you prefer. My notes are stored securely and are not shared with anyone. The supervision relationship operates under the same ethical framework as the counselling relationship

Yes. I am a registered member of NZAC and work within the professional and ethical standards required for counselling supervision. If you have specific requirements around supervision hours or documentation, let me know and we can ensure those are met.

The first session is relaxed and conversational. We’ll talk about what’s brought you in, what you’re hoping to get from our work together, and a bit about how I work. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with — we go at your pace. By the end we’ll have a clearer sense of where things are and whether working together feels like a good fit and in most cases progress towards your goals.

Many supervisees find value from the very first session — having a space to think clearly about a situation or challenge can shift things immediately. Over time the benefit compounds as patterns become clearer and your capacity to navigate complexity grows.

Monthly is standard for most supervisees, though fortnightly works well when you’re navigating something complex or are new to a role. We’ll find a frequency that keeps you supported without becoming another pressure in your schedule.

Most likely yes — I’ve worked with a wide range of people across many different situations. If you’re unsure whether your situation is something I can help with, the best thing to do is reach out for a brief conversation. I’ll be honest with you about whether I’m the right fit.

Supervision is collaborative and reflective — I’ll listen carefully to what you bring, and I’ll also offer honest perspective, challenge assumptions when it’s useful, and help you think through situations more clearly. It’s a thinking partnership, not just a sounding board.

Currently I offer individual supervision only. This allows for focused, personalised reflection on your specific work and context. If group supervision becomes available in the future, I’ll make that known.

Absolutely. You’re welcome to mix in-person and online sessions depending on what works for you week to week. Just let me know before the session and we’ll make it work.

That’s completely okay. Life happens and circumstances change. Just give me as much notice as you can and we can either pause and pick up when you’re ready, or wrap up in a way that feels complete. There are no lock-in contracts.

I offer a brief phone call before booking so you can get a feel for whether this is the right fit — no commitment required. Use the Talk First button to get in touch and we’ll arrange a time.

Yes, everything is held in confidence and any notes are stored in a secure system.
The only time confidence would be broken is in the event that harm could occur to you or others. This would be discussed with you first though.
