What to Expect
Counselling, coaching, and supervision provide a safe and supportive space to explore challenges, gain insight, and develop practical tools for change.
Sessions are typically up to 60 minutes and are available in person or online.
Services are delivered within the scope of professional competence. If additional or alternative support is needed, appropriate referrals will be recommended.
Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential. The only exceptions are where there is a legal or ethical obligation, such as risk of harm to yourself or others.
Where possible, this will be discussed with you beforehand.
Privacy
Client information and notes are kept securely, either in locked storage or secure digital systems, in accordance with privacy regulations.
Please also refer to our Privacy Policy for information on how your data is collected and stored.
Use of Recording and AI-Assisted Tools
With your consent, sessions may be recorded for the purpose of accurate note-taking and to support the quality of your care. Recordings are stored securely and are not shared with third parties.
You are welcome to decline recording at any time — this will not affect your care in any way.
AI-Assisted Tools
I use AI-assisted tools to help organise session notes, identify patterns, and track progress over time. This helps me provide more attentive, consistent, and personalised support.
Any information processed through these tools is handled with the same confidentiality as all other client information. AI tools used are reputable, secure services that do not use your data for training purposes.
What this means for you
- Your information is never sold or shared for marketing purposes
- AI assistance supports my work — it does not replace my professional judgement
- You can ask at any time what tools are being used and how your information is handled
- You can withdraw consent for recording or AI-assisted tools at any time
Your consent
By continuing to work together after this has been explained, you are indicating your understanding and agreement. If you have any questions, please ask — I’m happy to talk it through.
Emergency Support
This service does not provide emergency or crisis support.
If you require urgent assistance:
- Call 111 (New Zealand emergency services)
- Contact your GP
- Call 1737 to speak with a trained counsellor (free, 24/7 in NZ)
Bookings
Sessions can be arranged by contacting Grow Stronger directly or through the online booking system.
You will receive a confirmation email once your appointment is scheduled.
Session Types
In-person:
Please arrive on time at the agreed location.
Online:
A secure session link will be provided.
Cancellation
At least 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or changes.
Late cancellations or missed appointments will incur a half session charge.
This charge is not covered by third-party funding providers.
Fees and Payment
Fees are payable on the day of your session unless otherwise agreed.
Invoices will be sent via email and can be paid by bank transfer.
Additional services (e.g. extended sessions, reports, or liaison work) may be charged separately.
Professional Standards
Services are provided in line with professional and ethical guidelines. Feedback is welcomed at any time.
If concerns are not resolved, you may contact the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC).
Agreement
By engaging in services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms.
